Superbowl Sunday

I’ll be honest with you I’m not a big sports guy… I do like to keep up with our Dallas teams and I wish them all well, but I don’t regularly watch any games outside of the Dallas Stars. Even though I watch more hockey than anything else, I’m still not dedicated to watch every game. Something about hockey games are different though, especially when you go in person. It’s a different kind of energy than a basketball game or a football game. I think it’s mostly due in part to hockey fans being more intense. The whole arena feels electrically charges and when something (good or bad) happens in the game you feel it reverberate throughout the arena.

All that being said, I didn’t watch the superbowl. Not even one minute of it. I hate the Eagles and couldn’t care less about the Chiefs. So I decided to nerd out and watch the Lord of the Rings trilogy extended edition for Superbowl weekend. One nice point about it being superbowl weekend though is that one of my neighbors cooked out a bunch of awesome superbowl food and brought me a plate, which I happily ate while watching the Battle of Helm’s Deep. All in all, a damn fine weekend if I do say so myself.
