Wells Cattle Co is a burger restaurant in Rockwall, Texas, and it started out as a food truck in Royse City. It’s taken Best Burger in Rockwall year after year, the menu runs deep enough to feed whoever you walk in with, and there’s a second location now. The website was the part that had fallen behind.
Lee called me himself.
Lee Wells owns the place, and he reached out directly. He wanted a website that lived up to the standard of his food.
A restaurant that takes its category in town year after year sets that bar high on its own. The old site still worked. It had fallen behind a business that kept moving, from one truck in Royse City to a restaurant in Rockwall to a second location on top of that.
What we built
The new site runs on Astro, so it’s static and quick and costs almost nothing to keep running. Local SEO went in from the first page rather than getting bolted on at the end, which is why a search around Rockwall or Royse City turns Wells up.
Lee shaped more of the structure than I did. He knows his customers, he knows his numbers, and he had firm opinions about what people open the site to do. That read on your own business is the one thing I can’t supply.
How it turned out
The site sends you where you were already going. Menu, locations, hours, ordering. The beef, the story, the second location, all of it sits a click away instead of in your path.
I eat there, so I had a stake in this one past the invoice. Wells Cattle Co has a web presence now with the same care behind it that goes into the food.
